Key responsibilities
- Operate the M1TR milling machine for drilling, boring, and end milling operations.
- Interpret engineering drawings to understand the required specifications for parts.
- Set up the machine, including fixtures and tools, and make adjustments as needed.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and accuracy standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs to keep the machine in good working order.
- Monitor tool wear and make adjustments to maintain efficiency.
- Log operational data and report any issues to a supervisor.
- Adhere to company health, safety, and environment (HSE) requirements.
Required skills and qualifications
- Experience operating M1TR or similar DRO (Digital Readout) milling machines.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency with measuring tools like vernier calipers and micrometers.
- Familiarity with the processes of drilling, boring, and endmilling.
- Knowledge of GD&T symbols is often beneficial.
- An ITI qualification is frequently required.
- Experience in plastic mould knowledge can be a plus for some roles.
