Job Summary
Dr. Muthus Multispeciality Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cath Lab Technician to assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth functioning of the Cath Lab by preparing equipment, assisting during procedures, and maintaining patient safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the Cath Lab and ensure all equipment and instruments are ready before procedures.
- Assist cardiologists during coronary angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation, and other cardiac interventions.
- Operate and maintain Cath Lab imaging equipment and related devices.
- Prepare and position patients for procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.
- Monitor patients' vital signs during procedures and promptly report any abnormalities.
- Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Assist in the handling and maintenance of catheters, guidewires, stents, balloons, and other Cath Lab consumables.
- Maintain accurate procedure records, equipment logs, and patient documentation.
- Coordinate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, radiation safety guidelines, NABH standards, and quality protocols.
Eligibility
- B.Sc. Cardiac Technology / B.Sc. Cardiovascular Technology / Diploma in Cath Lab Technology or an equivalent qualification.
- Freshers or candidates with 1–3 years of Cath Lab experience in a hospital may apply.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Cath Lab procedures and cardiac interventions.
- Familiarity with Cath Lab equipment and imaging systems.
- Understanding of radiation safety and infection control practices.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills.
- Good documentation and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work in emergency and on-call situations.
