Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Engineer – Maintenance (HOD) to lead our Engineering and Maintenance Department. In this leadership role, you will oversee the total maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of all resort facilities, utilities, equipment, and infrastructure. Your primary focus will be driving preventive maintenance, cost optimization, statutory compliance, energy conservation, and seamless guest service.
Key Responsibilities
Department Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate the Engineering & Maintenance team.
- Plan daily engineering tasks, allocate work, and manage duty rosters.
- Identify training needs and upskill staff on equipment handling and safety.
Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
- Develop and execute comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules.
- Ensure swift resolution of equipment breakdowns with minimal operational disruption.
- Conduct daily quality inspections across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house operations.
Utilities & Plant Operations
- Oversee high-capacity utilities: Electrical systems (HT/LT panels, DG sets), HVAC, Plumbing, STP/WTP, Swimming Pool filtration, Boilers, Pumps, Motors, Elevators, and Commercial Kitchen/Laundry equipment.
Safety, Energy & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure 100% compliance with local statutory regulations, building codes, and licensing.
- Lead emergency response preparedness, fire safety audits, and safety protocol enforcement.
- Track and manage utility consumption (Electricity, Diesel, LPG, Water) to execute energy-saving initiatives.
Vendor Management & Cost Control
- Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs), evaluate vendor service quality, and handle inventory levels for critical engineering spares.
- Prepare annual departmental operational/CAPEX budgets and control repair costs.
Cross-Departmental Coordination & Projects
- Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, and F&B to resolve guest complaints instantly.
- Supervise ongoing property renovation, expansion, or refurbishment projects alongside external contractors.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or EEE Engineering.
- Certifications: Additional certifications in HVAC, Electrical Safety, Fire Safety, or Energy Management are a strong plus.
- Experience:
- 8–12 years of core engineering/maintenance experience in the hospitality industry.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial or departmental leadership role (HOD level).
- Hands-on experience in luxury resorts, hotels, or premium wellness retreats is preferred.
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
