JOB DESCRIPTION – DESIGN ENGINEER (NPD)

Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Freshers and candidates with up to 1 year of relevant experience can apply.
Software Knowledge
- CREO
- SolidWorks
- AutoCAD
- Basic knowledge of 2D drafting and 3D modelling.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for sheet metal components.
- Design and modify sheet metal parts, assemblies and fabricated components.
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and maintain design documentation.
- Understand customer drawings and convert requirements into manufacturing-ready designs.
- Apply basic knowledge of GD&T, tolerances and engineering drawing standards.
- Ensure designs are suitable for sheet metal manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, punching, bending and fabrication.
- Support new product development from concept to prototype and production.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality and other departments to resolve design-related issues.
- Make design modifications based on production feedback and customer requirements.
- Support prototype development and product improvement activities.
- Maintain drawing revisions and ensure updated drawings are available for production.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of CREO, SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Basic understanding of sheet metal design and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of GD&T and tolerances.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and work in a manufacturing environment.
Key Performance Expectations
- Accurate and timely preparation of drawings.
- Design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Proper maintenance of drawings, BOMs and revisions.
- Timely support for NPD and prototype activities.
- Effective coordination with Production and Quality teams.
Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
