Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator with strong expertise in PostgreSQL and AWS RDS environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in PostgreSQL version upgrades, database performance tuning, cloud migrations, and ensuring database stability across production systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, monitor, and optimize PostgreSQL databases across on-prem and AWS RDS environments
- Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries and long-running database operations
- Improve database performance through indexing, configuration tuning, and query optimization
- Handle backup, recovery, replication, failover, and disaster recovery processes
- Lead PostgreSQL version upgrades with minimal downtime
- Perform compatibility checks, upgrade testing, rollback planning, and post-upgrade validations
- Design and manage AWS RDS PostgreSQL instances, backups, snapshots, and security configurations
- Work on on-prem to AWS RDS migration projects and ensure smooth cutovers
- Automate database maintenance and operational tasks using scripting tools
- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams for deployments and infrastructure improvements
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of DBA experience with strong PostgreSQL expertise
- Hands-on experience in PostgreSQL version upgrades (mandatory)
- Strong experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL
- Expertise in query optimization and database performance tuning
- Good understanding of PostgreSQL internals and database architecture
- Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and failover strategies
- Strong Linux/Unix administration knowledge
- Experience with monitoring tools and database diagnostics
- Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or similar technologies
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Good to Have:
- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC
- Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with database automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Pay: ₹1,400,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
