Lab Incharge (NABL & ISO 17025)
The Lab Incharge will be responsible for the technical validity, quality compliance, and operational efficiency of our material testing laboratory. This role ensures that all destructive and non-destructive testing activities strictly comply with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards and NABL guidelines.

- Salary Range: ₹3,60,000 to ₹9,00,000 CTC per annum (Depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities1. Quality Management & NABL Accreditation
- QMS Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
- Documentation: Create, review, and control all Quality Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Work Instructions.
- Audits & Compliance: Act as the primary liaison during NABL assessments. Schedule and conduct regular internal audits.
- CAPA Management: Investigate customer complaints or testing deviations using root cause analysis; implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- PT/ILC Participation: Manage and ensure active participation in Proficiency Testing (PT) and Inter-Laboratory Comparisons (ILC) to validate testing accuracy.
2. Technical Operations Oversight
- Testing Supervision: Oversee and perform mechanical and metallurgical tests including Tensile (UTM), Hardness, Impact, Bend, Microstructure, and Macro examination.
- Equipment Calibration: Manage the maintenance, verification, and calibration of lab equipment to ensure absolute measurement traceability.
- Report Authorization: Review, evaluate, and officially sign off on final test reports and certificates as per IS, ASTM, and ISO standards.
- Measurement Uncertainty: Calculate, maintain, and properly report the Uncertainty of Measurement (MU) for all accredited test parameters.
3. Team Management & Safety
- Supervision: Manage the daily workflow of Mechanical Engineers, Lab Technicians, and QA staff.
- Competency Mapping: Regularly assess and update the competency matrices of all laboratory personnel.
- Training: Provide hands-on training regarding new testing methods, equipment handling, and safety protocols.
- Lab Safety: Ensure 100% adherence to industrial safety and health practices within the premises.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or Material Science.
- Experience: 5+ years of core experience in a testing/calibration laboratory, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or quality management role.
- Mandatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements and NABL audit facing experience.
- Technical Expertise: Strong practical knowledge of destructive testing (UTM, Impact, Hardness) and metallurgical analysis (Micro/Macro structure).
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and excellent professional communication skills for client and auditor interactions.
