Overview: A Patient Care Executive (PCE) is a pivotal healthcare professional acting as the primary liaison between patients, their families, and medical staff. They enhance the patient experience by coordinating care, managing communication, addressing grievances, and ensuring efficient, empathetic service from admission to discharge. Responsibilities of the Patient Care Services Department:
- Patient Advocacy & Support: Acting as a liaison between patients, families, and medical teams to ensure patient needs are met and questions are answered.
- Care Coordination: Organizing patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure a seamless transition of care.
- Quality Management: Developing, implementing, and monitoring patient care protocols to improve patient experience and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Patient Education: Providing comprehensive information regarding treatment plans and procedures.
- Daily Care Assistance: Supporting nursing staff with patient repositioning, feeding, personal hygiene, and monitoring vital signs.
- Data Management: Maintaining accurate and confidential electronic health records (EHR) of patient visits and treatments.
- Resource Management: Assisting with medication, scheduling transportation, and navigating healthcare systems.
