Job Description: Antenna Designer
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Antenna Designer with strong expertise in RF and microwave engineering to design, simulate, and optimize antennas for wireless communication, radar, and related applications. The role involves research-driven design, performance evaluation, and mentoring students or junior engineers where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and optimize antennas for applications such as wireless communication, radar, satellite, IoT, and 5G systems.
- Develop antenna structures including microstrip, patch, array, horn, and broadband antennas.
- Perform electromagnetic simulations using tools such as HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, ADS, or MATLAB.
- Analyze antenna parameters such as gain, bandwidth, radiation pattern, efficiency, impedance matching, and polarization.
- Support antenna fabrication, testing, and validation using measurement tools (VNA, anechoic chamber, spectrum analyzer).
- Collaborate with RF, signal processing, and system engineers to integrate antennas into complete communication systems.
- Guide and mentor students/researchers on antenna design projects (academic or R&D environments).
- Document design methodologies, simulation results, test reports, and technical papers.
- Stay updated with advancements in antenna technologies, RF materials, and wireless standards.
Required Skills
- Strong fundamentals in Antenna Theory, RF Engineering, and Electromagnetics.
- Proficiency in HFSS, CST, ADS, MATLAB, or equivalent EM simulation tools.
- Knowledge of transmission lines, impedance matching, and RF propagation.
- Experience with antenna measurement and testing techniques.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot antenna performance issues.
- Good documentation, presentation, and technical communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Master’s / Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE),
- Electronics Engineering, RF & Microwave Engineering, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in antenna arrays, MIMO systems, and 5G/6G antenna design.
- Exposure to AI/ML-assisted antenna optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with Software Defined Radio (SDR) platforms.
- Knowledge of RF circuit design and integration.
- Experience with FPGA or embedded systems for RF signal processing.
- Research publications or project experience in antenna or RF domains.
