Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Image Interpretation: Analyzing medical images to detect abnormalities, diagnose conditions (like cancer, fractures, or heart disease), and monitor treatment progress.
- Medical Consultation: Acting as an expert consultant to the patient's primary or referring physician, helping them choose the right imaging test and interpreting the results to inform patient care.
- Patient Safety: Evaluating a patient’s medical history—such as checking for contrast allergies or pregnancy—to ensure that imaging procedures will not cause harm.
- Supervision & Quality Control: Overseeing the work of radiologic technologists to ensure imaging equipment operates safely and the final images meet diagnostic quality standards.
- Interventional Procedures: For interventional radiologists, performing minimally invasive, image-guided treatments (e.g., biopsies, angioplasty, targeted injections) directly treating conditions without open surgery.
Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
