We are seeking a talented and passionate *Interior Designer* to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for translating client visions into functional, beautiful, and safe interior spaces. You will manage projects from the initial concept phase through spatial planning, material selection, and final styling.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong aesthetic eye, deep knowledge of interior architecture, and the technical skill to produce precise design documentation.
### *Key Responsibilities*
* *Concept & Strategy:* Consult with clients to determine project goals, aesthetic preferences, budget, and functional requirements. Develop cohesive design concepts, mood boards, and color palettes.
* *Space Planning & Layout:* Optimize interior layouts for flow, ergonomics, and structural integrity.
* *Technical Documentation:* Create detailed 2D floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D renderings using industry-standard design software.
* *Material & Furniture Sourcing:* Select and specify finishes, fixtures, flooring, lighting, custom cabinetry, and furniture (FF&E - Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment).
* *Project Management:* Collaborate with architects, general contractors, engineers, and tradespeople to ensure designs are executed accurately, on time, and within budget.
* *Compliance:* Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, accessibility guidelines (e.g., ADA standards), and safety regulations.
### *Required Skills & Qualifications*
* *Education:* Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a closely related field.
* *Technical Proficiency:* Advanced skills in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or Chief Architect, as well as rendering tools (e.g., V-Ray, Enscape) and the Adobe Creative Suite.
* *Industry Knowledge:* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, building codes, and the structural constraints of interior spaces.
* *Portfolio:* A robust portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of projects, showing a clear design process from initial sketches to finished spaces.
* *Soft Skills:* Exceptional communication, active listening, and presentation skills. Proven ability to problem-solve on active construction sites.
*Preferred Qualifications*
* NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) certification or state licensure.
* Experience with sustainable or green design principles (LEED or WELL accreditation is a plus).
* Established relationships with local vendors, fabricators, and contractors.
