Position Title: Maintenance Supervisor/Engineer
Department: Maintenance & Engineering
Reports To: Plant Head / Operations Head
Location: Palghar
Job Purpose
To ensure the effective functioning, reliability, and safety of all plant machinery, utilities, and infrastructure through efficient repair, maintenance, and preventive measures. The Maintenance Head is responsible for minimizing equipment downtime, managing maintenance teams, coordinating with vendors, and implementing best practices to support uninterrupted production operations and overall plant efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Repair and Maintenance Management
- Electrical Repairs: Supervise diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical systems within the facility, including wiring, control panels, and lighting systems.
- Plumbing Repairs: Manage the repair and maintenance of plumbing systems, ensuring smooth operation of water supply, drainage, and waste disposal.
- Carpentry Repairs: Oversee carpentry-related maintenance for structural elements, furniture, and fixtures, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Machine Maintenance: Ensure regular inspection, repair, and maintenance of all manufacturing machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and extend service life.
- Experience in working with sealing line and filling line machines is mandatory.
2. Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) Management
- Vendor Coordination: Allocate and manage AMCs for key systems and machinery, ensuring effective execution of service contracts.
- Service Monitoring: Track vendor performance and service delivery timelines as per AMC terms, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Communication: Maintain continuous communication with service providers to ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed AMC documentation — including service schedules, reports, and vendor performance reviews.
3. Record Keeping and Documentation
- Maintain comprehensive machine records including purchase details, technical specifications, and maintenance history.
- Log all maintenance and repair activities systematically.
- Ensure compliance of documentation with industry standards and internal policies.
- Prepare and submit regular maintenance status and AMC performance reports to senior management.
4. Planned and Emergency Services
- Emergency Preparedness: Design and implement an emergency maintenance protocol to ensure quick response to unexpected breakdowns.
- 24/7 Support: Ensure round-the-clock availability of the maintenance team for critical issues to reduce production losses.
- Emergency Kits: Maintain ready-to-use emergency toolkits and spare parts for immediate repairs.
- Contingency Planning: Develop backup plans and alternate workflows to maintain operations during equipment downtime.
5. Team Leadership and Supervision
- Workforce Management: Lead a team of electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and technicians effectively.
- Training & Development: Provide regular skill enhancement programs to ensure the team stays updated with best maintenance practices.
- Task Allocation: Assign work based on priority, complexity, and team expertise to ensure timely completion.
6. Preventive Maintenance Planning
- Scheduling: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all critical assets.
- Resource Management: Ensure availability of tools, spare parts, and manpower for preventive maintenance.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and optimize maintenance practices to improve efficiency and cost control.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with hands-on experience in sealing line and filling line machines.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and planning skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, preventive maintenance practices, and vendor management.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
