About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and skilled Commis I to lead kitchen operations within their assigned section. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, quality control, and team coordination while ensuring high standards of hygiene and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Independently manage an assigned kitchen section during service.
- Guide and supervise Commis II and Commis III staff.
- Ensure food quality, taste, and consistency at all times.
- Maintain mise en place and stock readiness before service.
- Monitor food wastage and practice cost control.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
- Train junior kitchen staff on food preparation and kitchen procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in a professional kitchen.
- Expertise in Continental cuisine, including Pizza, Pasta, Grill, and other basic continental preparations.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
