Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to design, program, simulate and test the automation product or process to achieve the efficiency and effectiveness required.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Mainframe automation professional with strong hands-on experience in automating mainframe operations, batch processing, and scheduling
The ideal candidate will play a key role in improving efficiency, reliability, and scalability of mainframe systems through automation and modern tooling, and work closely with development teams and business stakeholders to deliver efficient and reliable batch processing
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain automation solutions for mainframe operations
- Automate batch jobs scheduling, monitoring, and recovery processes
- Work on JCL, REXX, CLIST and automation tools integrate automation with enterprise scheduling tool (BMC Control M)
- Proactively identify opportunities to reduce manual intervention
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and support teams
- Ensure high availability, performance, and operations excellence
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA)and implement corrective and preventive action to batch Job abends
- Perform day to day operational activities which include Job Abends, Re-run/Restart, Force-OK, Adhoc /Out of Schedule batch run, batch scheduling i.e., add/delete/modify
- Investigate and resolve Job failures or delays, escalating issues as needed
- Manage and Monitor Batch Jobs schedule in Control M for both Mainframe and Distributed Environments
Required skills:
- Strong experience in Mainframe & automation technology i.e., JCL, TSO, ISPF, JCL, COBOL, GDG,CLIST, VSAM ,REXX etc
- Experience on Mainframe Scheduler using BMC Control M tool
- Experience in batch automation and job orchestration
- Solid Understanding of Job dependencies, scheduling cycle
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills
- Proactive along with good communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross functional team environments.
- Ability to work under pressure
- exposure to JIRA, Confluence, Kanban is added advantage
