Job Location/Hours: This position is based in Jaipur, with occasional travel required.
Experience: Graduate (Bachelor’s or Master’s in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, or related fields). Certifications such as Six Sigma/lean/quality management are preferred.

About the position – We are looking for a hands-on Production Manager with deep expertise in leather goods manufacturing, responsible for managing end-to-end shop floor operations for premium leather bags, trunks, SLG, and luxury accessories.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in leathercraft and have progressed through the manufacturing hierarchy to a production leadership role—bringing practical shop-floor expertise, strong people management, and the ability to drive production efficiency, craftsmanship, and timely delivery.
This role is focused on production excellence and leather craftsmanship. It is not a quality-control or leather-testing position.
Job Skills -
- Strong knowledge of leather cutting, skiving, stitching, edge finishing, lining, assembly, and finishing operations.
- Deep understanding of leather types, grain markings, thickness, reinforcement materials, adhesive types and their uses, threads, and luxury hardware integration.
- Experience in managing complete production lines for bags, SLG, trunks, and leather accessories.
- Strong manpower handling and shop floor discipline.
- Ability to achieve daily production targets while maintaining craftsmanship standards.
- Understanding of production planning, WIP management, line balancing, and productivity improvement.
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement techniques (formal certification not mandatory).
- Ability to train, mentor, and develop craftsmen and operators.

Major responsibilities:
Production Planning & coordination

Develop and implement robust production schedules, ensuring timely and quality delivery.

Collaborate with design, engineering, logistics, and supply chain to streamline workflows.

Balance customer orders, capacity, and inventory while ensuring full resource optimisation.

Partner with the Sales team to ensure on-time delivery and oversee end-to-end logistics.

Provide inputs for expansion planning, problem root-cause analysis, and solutions.

Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of metal, hardware, plating, coating, casting, and high-precision manufacturing.

Build/establish small plants, service, and repair facilities where required.

Manage factory operations across multiple production lines, ensuring synchronisation, efficiency, and maximum productivity.
Production Quality Coordination

Ensure production processes are executed according to approved workmanship standards.
- Coordinate with the quality team for inspections and corrective actions.
- Implement process improvements to reduce rework and improve first-pass yield.
- Ensure operators consistently follow approved production methods and workmanship guidelines.
Process Optimisation & Efficiency:

Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in production processes.

Apply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and best practices to maximise efficiency.

Optimise workflows, machine utilisation, and production line setups.

Set and monitor parameters for tasks, timelines, and job cards for accountability.

Ensure zero handling defects in development.
Inventory, Asset Management & Supply Chain Coordination

Coordinate store operations to ensure smooth material flow.

Align purchase and procurement teams for full material readiness (kitting).

Monitor raw material management to avoid shortages and reduce waste.

Responsible for hardware of fittings & fixtures and proper handling on the shop floor; hence, quantities are to be intact.
System & Process

Lead and optimise Factory Management Systems (FMS) and shop-floor processes.

Maintain accurate data for production output, QC, timelines, and incidents.

Prepare periodic reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and improvements.
Automation & Machinery

Evaluate and implement automation opportunities for scalability and efficiency.

Maintain and upgrade machinery to ensure smooth production flow.
