Maintenance Technician
1. Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance
- Carry out routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance of all electrical and mechanical systems, including production machinery, cranes, batching plants, molds, compressors, generators, and utilities.
- Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and execute timely repairs to restore equipment functionality.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, OEM guidelines, and statutory requirements.
2. Breakdown Management
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance calls.
- Coordinate with production teams to prioritize critical equipment and minimize operational disruptions.
- Report major breakdowns, recurring issues, and abnormal failures to the Factory Manager with corrective and preventive recommendations.
3. Inter-Departmental Coordination
- Work closely with Production, QA/QC, Stores, Dispatch, and Safety teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Plan maintenance schedules in alignment with production plans to avoid unnecessary downtime.
- Support installation, commissioning, and relocation of machines and equipment.
4. Equipment Monitoring & Usage Tracking
- Track machine usage, run hours, and maintenance history for all critical equipment.
- Maintain updated logs for breakdowns, repairs, spares consumption, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Analyze trends in failures and recommend improvements to enhance equipment life and efficiency.
5. Spares & Procurement Coordination
- Coordinate with Stores and Management to identify spares, tools, and equipment requirements.
- Raise indents for consumables, critical spares, and replacement equipment in a timely manner.
- Assist in vendor coordination for AMC services, external repairs, and specialized maintenance activities.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of maintenance records, checklists, and reports.
- Submit daily / weekly maintenance status reports, downtime analysis, and labour utilization reports.
- Maintain documentation for audits, safety inspections, and compliance reviews.
7. Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow all plant safety rules and promote safe work practices during maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper lock-out/tag-out procedures during repairs.
- Maintain tools, panels, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
