Job Summary
The Sales Executive is responsible for managing the complete sales cycle, from receiving customer RFQs to converting orders. The role includes preparing techno-commercial quotations, negotiating with customers, following up on enquiries, and building long-term relationships with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, distributors, and industrial customers. The objective is to maximize order conversion while ensuring customer satisfaction and achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities1. RFQ Management
· Receive and review customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs).
· Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Costing teams to evaluate feasibility.
· Ensure all RFQs are reviewed within the defined turnaround time.
· Maintain an RFQ tracker and monitor the status of all enquiries.
· Prioritize RFQs based on business potential and customer requirements.
2. Quotation Preparation
· Prepare accurate techno-commercial quotations based on customer specifications.
· Coordinate with internal departments to obtain costing, tooling, and lead-time information.
· Ensure quotations include pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and technical requirements.
· Submit quotations within customer deadlines.
· Maintain quotation records and revision history.
3. Customer Negotiation
· Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, delivery schedules, and payment conditions.
· Support customers by providing technical and commercial clarifications.
· Coordinate with internal teams to resolve customer concerns during negotiations.
· Maintain strong professional relationships with existing and prospective customers.
· Ensure negotiations align with company profitability and business objectives.
4. Order Conversion
· Follow up regularly on submitted quotations to maximize conversion.
· Convert RFQs into confirmed purchase orders.
· Coordinate with Planning, Production, and Dispatch teams to ensure timely execution.
· Monitor order status from receipt to delivery.
· Support customers throughout the order execution process.
5. Customer Follow-up
· Maintain regular communication with customers regarding enquiries, quotations, deliveries, and new business opportunities.
· Resolve customer issues by coordinating with internal departments.
· Conduct customer visits to strengthen relationships and identify future business.
· Collect customer feedback to improve products and services.
· Promote additional products and cross-selling opportunities.
6. Sales Coordination & Reporting
· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
· Maintain accurate records in CRM or ERP systems.
· Track RFQ status, quotation submissions, order conversion, and sales achievements.
· Monitor sales performance against targets.
· Share market intelligence and competitor information with management.
7. Market & Customer Development
· Identify new customers and business opportunities.
· Develop business with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, distributors, and industrial customers.
· Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and industry exhibitions.
· Support new product introductions and business expansion initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
· Number of RFQs received and processed.
· RFQ turnaround time.
· Number of quotations submitted.
· Quotation-to-order conversion ratio.
· Monthly and annual sales revenue.
· New customer acquisition.
· Customer retention rate.
· On-time quotation submission.
· Customer satisfaction score.
· Collection of customer feedback and repeat business.
Educational Qualification
· Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
· MBA (Marketing) is preferred.
Experience
· 2–5 years of experience in B2B industrial sales.
· Experience in the fasteners, automotive components, engineering, or manufacturing industry is preferred.
Required Skills
· Strong knowledge of RFQ handling and quotation preparation.
· Excellent negotiation and customer relationship management skills.
· Understanding of costing, pricing, and commercial terms.
· Knowledge of industrial fasteners and engineering components.
· Proficiency in ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
· Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
· Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
· Willingness to travel for customer visits and business development.
Preferred Knowledge
· Cold-forged fasteners and special engineering components.
· OEM and Tier-1 customer requirements.
· APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949, and customer quality requirements.
· Export documentation and international customer handling (preferred).
