Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledgers, balance sheets, and income statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Perform month-end and year-end close procedures, reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and analysing financial data to identify variances and discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations for management and external stakeholders, providing insights into company performance and financial health.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, customer billing, and collections, to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
- Process payroll for employees, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and preparing payroll reports for review and approval.
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity positions, forecasting cash needs, and managing banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial plans, analysing variances and recommending corrective actions to achieve financial goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, assisting in audits and providing support as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, project management, and human resources, to provide financial guidance and support for business activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, with the ability to apply them in a practical business setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes as needed.
