We are looking for a motivated Freight Broker to manage and coordinate freight shipments between shippers and carriers. The candidate will be responsible for negotiating rates, booking loads, tracking shipments, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and transportation partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate freight shipments between shippers and carriers.
- Source and negotiate rates with carriers and transportation providers.
- Find suitable carriers for available loads and ensure timely pickup and delivery.
- Communicate with customers, carriers, and drivers regarding shipment status.
- Track shipments and provide regular updates to customers.
- Handle rate confirmations, load details, and other transportation documentation.
- Resolve delays, delivery issues, and other shipment-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of loads, rates, carriers, and customer information.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers.
- Meet daily/weekly shipment and sales targets.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Good knowledge of Canada logistics/freight transportation is preferred.
- Experience with freight brokerage, trucking, dispatch, or logistics will be an advantage.
- Ability to work in a US time zone/night shift.
- Strong follow-up and problem-solving skills.
- Freshers with good communication skills may also be considered.
