Job Position :- Fitter
Job Summary:
The Fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery, equipment, pipelines, and mechanical systems used in the manufacturing plant. The role ensures smooth operation of machines, minimizes breakdowns, and supports production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:Machine Installation & Assembly
- Assemble and fit machine parts according to engineering drawings.
- Install new machinery and equipment in the plant.
- Align and calibrate machine components.
Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance as per maintenance schedule.
- Attend machine breakdowns and carry out repairs.
- Replace defective parts such as bearings, belts, gears, shafts, and couplings.
- Ensure minimum downtime of production equipment.
Inspection & Troubleshooting
- Inspect machinery regularly for wear and tear.
- Identify mechanical faults and root causes of breakdowns.
- Suggest corrective and preventive actions.
Fabrication & Repair Work
- Carry out fitting, drilling, grinding, cutting, and welding support activities.
- Repair damaged machine components.
- Modify equipment as per production requirements.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and work permits.
- Maintain housekeeping in the maintenance area.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Documentation
- Maintain maintenance records and job completion reports.
- Record spare parts consumption.
- Report major machine issues to the supervisor.
Required Skills:
- Mechanical fitting and assembly
- Reading engineering drawings
- Use of measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Dial Gauge)
- Preventive and breakdown maintenance
- Pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Teamwork and communication skills
Qualification:
- ITI Fitter / NCVT / SCVT
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Experience:
- Fresher to 5 years experience in a manufacturing industry.
- Experience in Pharma, Nutraceutical, Herbal, FMCG, Chemical, or Engineering industries preferred.
