- Good knowledge of Ocean Export Freight Forwarding processes.
- Understanding of Incoterms, container types, freight calculations.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Good English verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidate should be disciplined, presentable, and proactive.
- Ability to independently handle customer and agent inquiries.
Job description for Procurement / Pricing role: Ocean Export Dept.:
- Handle ocean export pricing and procurement activities for freight forwarding shipments.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, co-loaders for competitive freight rates.
- Prepare quotations for customers and sales team within defined timelines.
- Negotiate freight rates, free days, and service contracts with shipping lines and vendors.
- Monitor market trends, freight fluctuations, and carrier updates.
- Maintain pricing database and update tariff sheets regularly
- Ensure profitability while offering competitive pricing to customers.
- Follow up with vendors for special rates, space availability, and vessel schedules.
- Support key accounts and overseas inquiries related to ocean export shipments.
- Supporting sales team for pricing-related inquiries & meet deadlines.
- Coordinate with customer to convert more business.
