An Electrical Maintenance Engineer ensures the safe, continuous operation of facility and plant electrical systems. They minimize downtime by developing preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting complex equipment failures, and overseeing electrical safety compliance. This role requires hands-on repair work, system upgrades, and equipment testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Plan and execute routine inspections, testing, and servicing of electrical assets (e.g., transformers, switchgears, relays, and grounding circuits) to prevent sudden breakdowns.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Swiftly diagnose and resolve electrical faults, control system issues, and equipment failures to restore operations.
- Automation & Controls: Provide support for automation and control networks, including Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and SCADA systems.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict electrical safety protocols, such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) systems, and ensure all facility installations comply with local electrical codes and standards.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment performance metrics, and equipment strategies
- Spare Parts Management: Monitor and procure electrical spare parts to ensure necessary components are available during planned shutdowns or emergencies
