Typical Responsibilities Include:
- Review piping drawings, isometrics, specifications, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Ensure materials conform to approved specifications and verify material traceability.
- Monitor piping fabrication and installation activities.
- Inspect fit-up, alignment, dimensions, and support installation.
- Verify that welding activities comply with approved WPS/PQR and that welders are qualified.
- Coordinate and witness NDT (RT, UT, PT, MT) as required.
- Inspect hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests.
- Ensure proper flushing, cleaning, and reinstatement of piping systems.
- Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, test records, punch lists, and turnover dossiers.
- Raise and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors, and construction teams during inspections.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, API Standards, project specifications, and client requirements
- Key Skills
- Knowledge of piping fabrication and installation.
Common Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, LNG, or Industrial Construction projects.
- Certifications such as CSWIP, BGAS, or ASNT (depending on the role and employer) are preferred.
- Understanding of welding processes and NDT methods.
- Familiarity with QA/QC documentation and inspection procedures.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and GA drawings.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
