Education:
- Minimum 15 years of regular, full-time education (10 + 2 + 3)
- Non-technical graduation in finance & accounts stream- B.Com, M.Com or similar
Must Have:
- Journal Preparation , Reconciliation , Reporting and month close activities
Good-to-Have:
- Trial Balance, P&L review & consolidation
Role Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger Manager to oversee end-to-end GL activities, ensure accurate financial reporting, and strengthen accounting controls. The role involves managing month-end close, balance sheet integrity, audit support, and driving process improvements while leading a team.
Required Qualifications
- B.Com / M.Com / CA / CMA (preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in General Ledger / R2R
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (Ind AS / IFRS / GAAP)
- Experience in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management:
- Manage and oversee end-to-end GL operations
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Maintain chart of accounts integrity
Reconciliation & Controls:
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely closure
- Monitor and resolve open and aged reconciling items
- Implement and strengthen internal controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and standards
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review financial statements
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of trial balance
Audit & Compliance:
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors
- Address audit queries and ensure timely closure
- Support SOX / internal control frameworks
Process Improvement & Automation:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization
- Drive automation initiatives in GL processes
- Work with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and reconciliation tools
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the GL team
- Ensure proper work allocation and review mechanisms
- Track and improve team KPIs and productivity
