Job Overview
A Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire warehouse operation, ensuring efficient storage, movement, and distribution of goods. The role focuses on productivity, safety, cost control, and team management.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations Management
- Plan, organize, and control warehouse activities like:
- Receiving
- Storage
- Picking, packing
- Dispatch
- Ensure optimal utilization of space, equipment, and workforce
- Monitor inventory flow and minimize stock discrepancies
- Coordinate with transport, procurement, and customer service teams
- Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse staff
- Allocate tasks, schedule shifts, and track performance
- Coach and motivate employees to improve productivity
- Ensure proper staffing levels based on workload
- Inventory & Stock Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records using WMS
- Conduct cycle counts and audits
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Ensure proper labeling, storage conditions, and FIFO/FEFO compliance
- Safety, Regulatory Compliance & Quality
- Enforce workplace safety standards and procedures
- Ensure compliance with local, federal, and company regulations
- Maintain quality standards for handling and storage
- Ensure compliance with:
- Local safety regulations
- Client-specific safety standards
- Internal company protocols
- Drive zero-incident culture
- Conduct regular safety training, audits and safety drills
- Shipping & Receiving Oversight
Ensure goods are:
- Received accurately
- Stored properly
- Dispatched on time
- Monitor order accuracy and delivery timelines
- Resolve issues like damages, delays, or incorrect shipments
- Cost & Performance Management
Monitor warehouse KPIs such as:
- Productivity
- Order accuracy
- Turnaround time
- Implement cost control measures to improve profitability
- Optimize labor and operational expenses
- Equipment & Facility Management
- Ensure proper maintenance of warehouse equipment (forklifts, racks, etc.)
- Safeguard company assets
- Maintain warehouse infrastructure and housekeeping standards
- Ensure uptime of:
- MHE (forklifts, reach trucks, etc.)
- Warehouse infrastructure
- Coordinate with vendors for maintenance
- Cross-functional Coordination
Work closely with:
- Transportation teams
- Procurement
- Customer service
- Align warehouse activities with overall supply chain strategy

- Ability to work in warehouse conditions (standing, lifting, moving items)
- Comfortable with operational demands and shift work
- Hands-on involvement in warehouse floor activities
