Arctic Wolf is looking for a Staff Quality Engineer ( SDET ) to join the SOAR team. SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation and Response) is a security operations platform that helps organizations streamline incident response, automate repetitive security workflows, and improve analyst efficiency through intelligent orchestration and automation.
As a Staff SDET , you will define and drive the quality engineering strategy for the SOAR platform. You will be responsible for building scalable automation frameworks, improving test infrastructure, and ensuring high-quality releases across both frontend and backend systems. This role requires deep expertise in UI and API automation, along with the ability to influence engineering practices and mentor teams in a fast-paced, cloud-native environment.
Define and drive the overall quality and test automation strategy for the SOAR platform.
Architect, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Develop automation solutions using modern frameworks such as Playwright/Selenium and leverage programming languages such as Python or TypeScript.
Design test strategies that validate frontend applications, backend microservices, APIs, and event-driven workflows.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and drive shift-left quality engineering practices.
Partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Security teams to ensure high-quality and reliable releases.
Lead efforts around functional, regression, performance, scalability, and reliability testing.
Evaluate and improve testing infrastructure for applications running in cloud-native environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
Drive engineering excellence by establishing testing best practices, improving observability, and enabling continuous quality improvements.
Mentor Quality Engineers and SDETs, providing technical guidance and fostering a strong quality culture across teams.
12+ years of experience in Development/Quality Engineering, Test Automation, and/or SDET roles.
Strong experience building and scaling test automation frameworks for both UI and API testing.
Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or similar UI automation frameworks.
Hands-on experience with API and backend automation frameworks such as Pytest, Rest Assured, Postman/Newman, or similar technologies.
Strong programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
Experience testing REST APIs, microservices architectures, and distributed systems.
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
Strong understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and event-driven systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Functional understanding of modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
Experience designing and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Proven ability to influence engineering direction, drive quality initiatives, and mentor engineers across teams.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Experience testing security products or cybersecurity platforms.
Familiarity with performance, scalability, and resilience testing techniques.
Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools for test generation, defect analysis, and quality engineering workflows.
Exposure to observability and monitoring technologies in cloud-native environments.
