Job Description
MACLEC is seeking a highly experienced and technically sound Civil Engineer – Design & Field Investigation having strong expertise in survey, geological investigations, water resource infrastructure, and execution planning related to canals, dams, reservoirs, earthen bunds, hydro projects, and associated civil structures.
The candidate shall be responsible for conducting field investigations, preparing technical assessments, coordinating surveys, and supporting design and execution activities for upcoming renewable energy and hydro infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed field investigations, site inspections, and feasibility assessments for hydro and infrastructure projects.
- Perform and supervise:
- Geological investigations
- Topographical surveys
- DGPS/Total Station surveys
- Contour mapping
- Soil investigations
- Hydrological and canal assessments
- Prepare and review:
- Civil drawings
- Layout plans
- Cross-sections
- Alignment drawings
- Survey reports
- BOQs and technical reports
- Design and execution support for:
- Earthen bunds
- Canals
- Reservoirs
- Barrages
- Dams
- Hydraulic structures
- Intake/outfall systems
- Coordinate with survey agencies, contractors, consultants, and government departments.
- Assist in DPR/PFR preparation, estimation, quantity calculations, and project planning.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IS codes, safety standards, and engineering practices.
- Travel extensively to project sites across India for inspections and supervision.
Desired Skills & Expertise
- Strong knowledge of:
- Water resources engineering
- Canal hydraulics
- Earthwork and embankment design
- Civil survey methodologies
- Geotechnical investigations
- Experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, survey software, and estimation tools preferred.
- Ability to independently handle field teams and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Eligibility Criteria
- B.Tech / M.Tech in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 3–10 years of relevant experience preferred
- Experience in hydro, irrigation, dam, canal, reservoir, or infrastructure projects will be highly preferred.
- Candidates willing to travel extensively and work on challenging field projects are encouraged to apply.
