Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Podcast Editor to produce high-quality audio and video content for our podcast channel. The Podcast Editor will be responsible for editing raw recordings into polished episodes, ensuring professional sound and visual quality, maintaining brand consistency, and creating engaging promotional content for digital platforms. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, audio engineering, and video editing, with the ability to transform long-form conversations into compelling content.
Key Responsibilities
A. Audio Editing
- Edit raw podcast recordings to create clear, engaging, and professional-quality episodes.
- Remove background noise, filler words, long pauses, interruptions, and technical glitches.
- Balance audio levels, enhance voice clarity, and ensure consistent sound quality.
- Add intros, outros, music, sound effects, transitions, and advertisements where applicable.
- Master audio files to meet platform-specific publishing standards.
B. Video Editing
- Edit video podcasts for YouTube and other digital platforms.
- Synchronize audio and video, optimize framing, and ensure smooth transitions.
- Add lower-thirds, captions, branding elements, animations, and graphics.
- Enhance visual quality through basic color correction and grading.
- Export videos in multiple formats suitable for different platforms.
C. Content Re-purposing
- Create short-form promotional videos, reels, shorts, and social media clips from podcast episodes.
- Identify engaging highlights and key moments suitable for digital promotion.
- Add subtitles and optimize content for mobile-first viewing.
- Produce teaser videos and promotional assets to support episode launches.
D. Quality Assurance
- Review final edits for audio and video quality before publication.
- Ensure consistency in branding, style, and production standards.
- Verify synchronization, caption accuracy, and overall viewing/listening experience.
- Implement revisions based on producer or stakeholder feedback.
E. File & Asset Management
- Organize and maintain raw footage, project files, audio assets, graphics, and final outputs.
- Maintain version control and archive completed projects.
- Ensure proper file naming conventions and storage practices.
F. Collaboration
- Work closely with producers, writers, hosts, designers, and marketing teams.
- Incorporate creative feedback while maintaining production quality.
- Coordinate with producers to meet production schedules and publishing deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Media, Film Production, Mass Communication, Multimedia, or a related field (preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in audio/video editing, podcast production, digital media, or broadcast production.
Preferred Experience
- Experience editing interview-based, educational, business, or documentary-style podcasts.
- Experience producing content for YouTube, Spotify Video, or other podcast platforms.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with hands-on experience in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Experience creating reels, shorts, and promotional social media content.
- Portfolio demonstrating expertise in audio and video editing.
