Job description:
The ELV Installation Engineer is responsible for on-site execution of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including structured cabling, termination (punching), rack installation and dressing, testing support, and assistance during commissioning. The role requires strong practical skills, adherence to quality and safety standards, and coordination with site teams to ensure timely and compliant project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Structured Cabling & Installation
- Execute CAT6 / CAT6A UTP & STP structured cabling as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Carry out fiber optic (Single Mode & Multi-Mode) cable laying and routing.
- Install cable trays, conduits, trunking, and raceways with proper segregation from power cables.
- Ensure correct cable labeling, tagging, and identification as per standards.
2. Termination & Punching
- Perform RJ45 termination at data outlets, patch panels, and network equipment.
- Punch CAT6 / CAT6A cables on patch panels (110 / Krone type).
- Terminate keystone jacks and faceplates.
- Assist in fiber termination and basic continuity checks.
3. Rack Installation & Dressing
- Install wall-mount and floor-standing network racks as per layout drawings.
- Perform professional rack dressing including patch panel to switch dressing, cable managers, and airflow management.
- Mount switches, PDUs, LIUs, patch panels, and accessories.
4. Testing & Quality Assurance
- Support copper cabling testing using Fluke or equivalent testers.
- Assist in fiber testing such as OTDR and power meter testing.
- Rectify installation defects and snags.
- Ensure compliance with TIA/EIA standards and OEM guidelines.
5. Site Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors.
- Report daily progress and maintain red-line drawings.
- Support as-built documentation.
6. Safety & Compliance
- Follow site safety rules and PPE requirements.
- Ensure installations adhere to approved drawings and BOQ.

Educational Qualification:
- ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Networking, or related discipline
