Senior Executive – Quality Control
Reporting To: Quality Control Manager / Production Manager
Location: Manufacturing Unit
Job Purpose
To ensure that carpets manufactured by the company consistently meet defined quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements through systematic inspection, testing, process monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives across all stages of production.
Key Responsibilities1. Raw Material Quality Control
- Inspect and verify incoming raw materials including wool, cotton, viscose, polyester, silk, jute, latex, dyes, chemicals, and packaging materials.
- Ensure raw materials conform to approved specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with procurement and suppliers regarding quality-related issues and corrective actions.
2. In-Process Quality Monitoring
- Monitor quality parameters throughout carpet manufacturing processes including:
- Yarn preparation
- Dyeing
- Warping
- Weaving (Hand-knotted, Hand-tufted, Jacquard, Wilton, Flatweave, etc.)
- Washing
- Finishing
- Clipping and carving
- Backing and latex application
- Conduct regular inspections to identify defects and deviations.
- Ensure compliance with approved designs, color standards, dimensions, and construction specifications.
3. Final Product Inspection
- Perform final quality inspection before dispatch.
- Verify:
- Carpet dimensions
- Weight and pile height
- Design accuracy
- Color consistency
- Finishing quality
- Defect-free appearance
- Packing standards
- Approve or reject finished goods based on quality criteria.
4. Quality Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain inspection reports, quality records, test reports, and rejection analyses.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality performance reports.
- Track quality KPIs such as rejection rates, rework percentage, customer complaints, and first-pass yield.
5. Customer & Compliance Requirements
- Ensure products comply with customer specifications and quality manuals.
- Support customer audits, third-party inspections, and compliance assessments.
- Assist in maintaining quality certifications and standards.
6. Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Investigate quality defects and root causes.
- Recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Follow up on closure of quality issues with production teams.
7. Team Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Production, Dyeing, Finishing, Stores, and Dispatch departments.
- Guide and train quality inspectors and shop-floor personnel on quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Promote quality awareness throughout the manufacturing process.
8. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to reduce defects, wastage, and rework.
- Participate in process improvement and quality enhancement projects.
- Support implementation of quality management systems and best practices.

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Textile Engineering, Carpet Technology, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Additional certification in Quality Control or Quality Management will be preferred.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in Quality Control within the carpet / rug.
- Experience in hand-knotted, hand-tufted, woven, or machine-made carpet manufacturing preferred.
