Job Summary
Konnak Engineering Private Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and supervise all mechanical engineering and construction activities for an industrial EPC project. The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical engineering, equipment installation, piping systems, contractor management, quality control, construction supervision, and commissioning support while ensuring project quality, safety, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineering and construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review mechanical engineering drawings, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, vendor drawings, fabrication drawings, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and installation drawings.
- Review equipment layouts and piping layouts for constructability.
- Supervise installation of static and rotating equipment.
- Supervise installation of process packages, skid-mounted equipment, utility packages, and associated auxiliaries.
- Coordinate equipment foundation interfaces with the Civil & Structural team.
- Supervise piping fabrication, erection, supports, pressure testing, flushing, reinstatement, and final installation.
- Coordinate heavy lifting, rigging, and equipment installation activities.
- Review method statements, lifting plans, and installation procedures.
- Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Procurement, QA/QC, HSE, and Construction teams.
- Monitor contractor productivity, construction quality, and project schedule.
- Review material requisitions, technical submittals, and vendor documentation.
- Verify quantities for contractor billing and work progress.
- Coordinate inspections, hydrotesting, flushing, mechanical completion, and punch listing.
- Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, performance testing, and project handover.
- Participate in technical meetings and prepare progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable codes, HSE requirements, and Quality Management Systems.
- Lead and supervise mechanical supervisors, inspectors, and contractor teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial EPC construction projects.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Chemical, Fertilizer, Power, Renewable Energy, Cement, Steel, or Process Plants is preferred.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary EPC projects from construction through commissioning.
Required Skills & Experience
- Review and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, vendor drawings, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and installation drawings.
- Experience in installation, alignment, testing, and commissioning support of static equipment, including pressure vessels, storage tanks, reactors, heat exchangers, filters, separators, and other process equipment.
- Experience with rotating equipment, including pumps, blowers, compressors, agitators, mixers, gearboxes, and motors.
- Experience in installation of compressor packages, packaged equipment, skid-mounted process packages, gas processing systems, utility packages, and associated auxiliary systems.
- Experience in installation, alignment, piping hook-up, pre-commissioning, and commissioning support for packaged mechanical equipment.
- Experience in piping fabrication, erection, supports, hydrotesting, flushing, reinstatement, and mechanical completion.
- Knowledge of ASME, API, IS Codes, and other applicable international engineering standards.
- Experience in heavy equipment lifting and rigging activities.
- Review of Material Requisitions (MR), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), vendor documents, and inspection reports.
- Material Take-Off (MTO) and quantity verification.
- Contractor management and construction supervision.
- QA/QC inspection coordination and HSE implementation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Zoho ERP, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent for material tracking, procurement coordination, and project reporting.
- Strong leadership, communication, planning, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.

Salary
₹60,000 – ₹80,000 per month (Negotiable based on experience and qualifications).
