Key Responsibilities
- Underwriting & Risk Assessment: Analyze complex financial statements, balance sheets, and credit profiles of contractors or businesses to determine their capacity to take on a project and the risk of default.
- Client & Broker Coordination: Work directly with contractors, project owners (obligees), and insurance brokers to process bond applications, explain terms, and issue the necessary guarantees (like bid, performance, or payment bonds).
- Documentation & Legal Compliance: Prepare and review detailed indemnity agreements, bond riders, and legal paperwork.
- Claim Management: Review and investigate claims when a project or contract defaults. If a claim is valid, the surety pays the project owner and subsequently seeks full reimbursement from the contractor.
Core Qualifications & Skills
- Financial Acumen: Strong capability in financial statement analysis, credit risk, and understanding of financial ratios.
- Analytical Thinking: Detail-oriented mindset to spot inconsistencies, mitigate risks, and estimate probability of default.
- Education & Certifications: A bachelor's degree in finance, business, or risk management is typically required.
- Communication: Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to mediate between the various parties involved in large-scale commercial or infrastructure contracts.
Backgrounds: Existing insurance/brokerage firms (e.g., Allianz Trade, SBI General, or local insurance brokers), Legal, paralegal, or construction claims investigation, Infrastructure, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction), or manufacturing sectors
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
