Position: Qc Engineer – (Transformer Industry)

Job Description
A QC Engineer in the transformer industry is responsible for ensuring that all materials, components, manufacturing processes, and finished transformers meet customer specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct incoming inspection of transformer raw materials such as CRGO core laminations, copper/aluminum conductors, insulation materials, transformer oil, bushings, tap changers, radiators, and other accessories.
- Perform stage-wise quality inspections during core cutting, core stacking, coil winding, insulation, active part assembly, tank fabrication, welding, painting, and final assembly.
- Verify dimensions, workmanship, and compliance with engineering drawings, manufacturing procedures, and quality plans.
- Witness and verify routine, type, and special transformer tests as per IEC/IS/customer specifications.
- Perform and review electrical tests including Insulation Resistance (IR), Winding Resistance (WRM), Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR), Magnetic Balance Test (MBT), Vector Group, Polarity, Applied Voltage Test, Induced Voltage Test, and Oil BDV testing.
- Ensure proper calibration and usage of measuring instruments and testing equipment.
- Prepare inspection reports, test reports, quality records, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Identify quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Coordinate with production, design, stores, and testing departments to resolve quality-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System, customer specifications, safety requirements, and applicable IEC/IS standards.
- Participate in internal audits, customer inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of transformer manufacturing processes and quality control procedures.
- Understanding of IEC, IS, and customer quality standards.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, GA drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, and CAPA.
- Hands-on experience with measuring instruments including Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Gauge, and electrical testing equipment.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and quality documentation.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
