Role Overview
The Digital Engineering Group promotes a holistic approach to design and construction model based services and technologies. The group defines the strategy around the use of BIM, data integration across models and departments, and cultural change across project teams to deliver significant risk reduction on construction cost and schedule.
The Visualizations Team is responsible for 3D visualization efforts nationally. Working closely with Business Development, Pursuit Marketing and Operations, the team delivers logistics plans and models, renderings, animations, 4D schedules and VR/AR/MR content to support the pursuit of new business. The team also supports project teams with visualizations that inform decision making on complex construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
Visualization Content Development
- Produce best in class visualization content for internal and external audiences, including logistics plans, renderings, case study material, animations, 4D schedules and VR/AR/MR simulations.
- Ensure all deliverables meet or exceed expectations and adhere to graphic standards.
3D and 4D Modeling
- Develop 3D and 4D site safety and logistics models, collecting data from project sites and incorporating construction knowledge into the plans.
- Develop construction sequence 3D and 4D models, including constructability analysis, spatial coordination considerations and integrated safety measures.
- Model construction systems across structural, architectural, MEPFP and general requirements scopes.
Delivery and Workload Management
- Manage a dynamic and fast paced workload with the ability to prioritise effectively based on business objectives and available resources.
- Meet all internal and external client deadlines.
- Monitor delivery and identify, manage or escalate potential risks.
- Conduct regular project reviews and apply learnings to live projects.
Team Support and Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide training and support on software and tools to project teams.
- Proactively develop and maintain relationships with new and existing project teams.
- Own day to day interaction and relationships with project stakeholders.
- Identify and raise opportunities for new products, services and experiences that add value for clients.
Qualifications
- Four year degree in an accredited industry related discipline.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of VDC related design and or construction experience with clear progression of technical knowledge and responsibility.
- Thorough understanding of general construction techniques and systems, with a focus on site safety and logistics planning.
- Strong capability in 3D parametric modeling software, Revit at a minimum, including site safety and logistics models, custom Revit families, 4D simulations integrated with construction schedules and high quality rendered imagery.
- Working capability across some or all of the following: 3ds Max, Rhino, AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, V Ray or Corona render engines, Twinmotion, Unreal Engine, Fuzor and Lumion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
