- Good garment stitching experience; sampling room experience at an export house, boutique, or brand strongly preferred
- Ability to construct a full garment end-to-end independently, not just one operation
- Skilled on single needle and overlock; working knowledge of flatlock
- Strong understanding of knit garment construction (t-shirts, hoodies) and woven construction (shirts, pants)
- Ability to read patterns and follow seam allowances and notches accurately
- Patience for iteration — samples often go through 2–3 rounds of corrections
- Neat, consistent stitching quality suitable for showroom-level samples
