Roles and Responsibilities of Quantity Surveyor (QS)
The Quantity Surveyor shall assist the PMC Head during the tendering process and support the Project Manager during the project execution stage in all aspects of quantity surveying, cost management, contract administration, progress monitoring, and project documentation. The QS shall provide necessary support for effective cost control, commercial management, and successful project delivery throughout the tendering and construction phases.
The responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
During Tendering Stage:
- Assist the PMC Head in the tendering process, including preparation of quantity take-offs, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and tender-related documents.
- Assist in the preparation and review of pre-qualification documents, tender evaluation documents, and technical/commercial comparison statements.
- Support the PMC Head in reviewing tender submissions, analysing rates, and providing inputs for tender evaluation and recommendations.
- Assist in the review of tender clarifications, bidder queries, and commercial aspects of tender submissions.
During Project Execution Stage:
- Assist the Project Manager in all quantity surveying, cost management, contract administration, and commercial management activities at site.
- Review and verify BOQs, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates during project execution.
- Verify contractor measurements, interim payment applications, and Running Account (RA) bills, and submit recommendations to the Project Manager for review and approval.
- Monitor quantities, project costs, budget status, and cost performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and evaluate variations, extra items, rate analyses, and their cost implications, and provide recommendations to the Project Manager.
- Support contract administration activities, including review of contractor claims, change orders, and final account settlements.
- Prepare cost reports, budget monitoring statements, financial forecasts, and other cost-related reports as required.
- Maintain proper records of measurements, payments, variations, contracts, and all project cost-related documentation.
- Coordinate with the Client, PMC team, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders for effective cost control and smooth project execution.
- Assist the Project Manager in monitoring daily site progress and reviewing contractor performance.
- Review daily progress reports and verify actual physical progress achieved at site.
- Compare physical progress with billed quantities and identify discrepancies, if any.
- Prepare cost-related progress reports, track completion percentages, and monitor payment status.
- Provide inputs for monthly project progress reports, dashboards, and review documentation.
- Assist the Project Manager in preparing documents, presentations, and supporting information for project review meetings.
- Provide continuous support to the Project Manager in planning, monitoring, reporting, and controlling project activities to ensure timely completion within the approved cost and schedule.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
