Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior NextJS Engineer with 6–8 years of experience building scalable, cloud-native web applications using modern JavaScript technologies and AWS. This role is centered on React.js and Next.js with server-side rendering, backed by RESTful API integration, PostgreSQL, and standards-based authentication (OpenID Connect / OAuth2).
You will work closely with architects, business analysts, UI/UX, and backend engineers to deliver secure, high-performing applications, and help shape front-end and integration decisions on the platform.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain full stack web applications using React.js and Next.js with selective server-side rendering- Server-render above-the-fold content and use client-side rendering elsewhere to optimize initial load and perceived performance.
- Implement portal-side orchestration within the Next.js application (API routes / server actions) and integrate with backend and SAP-facing APIs.
- Design responsive, reusable UI components following React and Next.js best practices.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs with sound authentication, authorization, and error handling.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and stored procedures.
- Implement authentication and authorization using OpenID Connect / OAuth2 (AWS Cognito or enterprise IdP), including JWT validation and role-based access.
- Deploy and run applications on AWS using services such as S3, CloudFront, Lambda, and App Runner.
- Collaborate across Product, QA, DevOps, and Architecture teams; take part in code reviews, design discussions, and production troubleshooting.
- Follow coding standards, security guidelines, and CI/CD practices.
- Make server-side vs client-side rendering and integration-boundary decisions and define API contracts with backend and SAP teams.
Required Skills & Experience
Frontend (mandatory)
- Strong, hands-on experience in React.js.
- Strong, hands-on experience in Next.js, including server-side rendering (App Router, server components, API routes).
- Solid understanding of SSR / CSR / hydration trade-offs and when to render on the server versus the client.
- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience with state management (Redux / Context API) and responsive UI development.
APIs & Integration
- Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, integration, and consumption.
- Good understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OIDC / OAuth2, JWT).
Database
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including optimized SQL and a sound grasp of database design and performance tuning.
AWS & Cloud
- Experience across AWS services, including exposure to Lambda, App Runner, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with OIDC / OAuth2 identity (AWS Cognito or enterprise IdP).
- Understanding of cloud-native application architecture.
Good to Have
- Working knowledge of Node.js for standalone server-side services.
- Familiarity with hosting Next.js on AWS (App Runner or serverless / Lambda).
- Experience integrating with enterprise systems such as SAP (REST / OData).
Additional Skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in product engineering or digital transformation programs.
- Exposure to microservices architecture.
- Working knowledge of containerization (Docker) is a plus.
- AWS certification is an added advantage.
