Tool & Die Maker – Injection Mold & Compression Mold Manufacturing
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Tool & Die Maker responsible for manufacturing, assembling, repairing, maintaining, and modifying Injection Molds and Compression Molds used in plastic component production. The candidate should have hands-on experience with mold making, precision machining, tool fitting, and troubleshooting of tooling-related issues in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture, assemble, and maintain Injection Molds and Compression Molds.
- Perform mold fitting, spotting, polishing, and final assembly.
- Repair and modify existing molds as per production requirements.
- Operate conventional and CNC machines such as Milling, Lathe, Surface Grinder, EDM, and Wire Cut EDM.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD designs, and technical specifications.
- Manufacture mold components including core, cavity, inserts, sliders, ejector systems, and guide elements.
- Conduct mold trials and troubleshoot molding defects.
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of molds.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and maintain quality standards.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, and Quality teams for mold development and improvements.
- Maintain proper documentation and tool history records.
- Follow safety standards and housekeeping practices in the tool room.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Injection Mold and Compression Mold manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience in Tool Room operations.
- Knowledge of CNC Milling, EDM, Wire Cut EDM, Grinding, and Lathe machines.
- Ability to read 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Understanding of mold construction, cooling systems, gating systems, and ejector mechanisms.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with close tolerances and precision measurements.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and Dial Indicator.
Qualification
- ITI Tool & Die Maker / Turner / Fitter
- Diploma in Tool Engineering / Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
- Certification in Mold Making or Tool & Die Making will be an added advantage.
- Experience: 2–5 Years (Preferred)
- Experience in Plastic Injection Mold Manufacturing.
- Experience in Compression Mold Manufacturing.
- Experience with Mold Maintenance and Tool Room Activities.
- Knowledge of Mold Trial and Production Support Activities.Salary
- As per company standards and candidate experience.
