Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Operative Preparation: Sterilize surgical tools, check electrical connections, calibrate anesthesia machines, and set up surgical carts according to the procedure
Intra-Operative Support: Assist surgeons and nurses by cleanly passing instruments, handling C-ARM imaging machinery, and monitoring central oxygen supplies.
Post-Operative Cleaning: Disinfect the theatre, properly dispose of medical waste, and clean surgical gear to prepare the room for the next surgery
Patient Care: Safely transport patients between hospital wards and the operating table, and assist with precise physical positioning required for surgery
Inventory Management: Maintain exact records of equipment, log sterilization cycles, and report short-stocked surgical inventory
Requirements & Skills
- Education: High school diploma (Science stream preferred) followed by a Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT) or an equivalent certification. [1, 2]
- Technical Skills: Deep expertise in infection control, autoclave operations, aseptic techniques, and handling specialized medical machinery. [1, 2]
- Soft Skills: Extreme attention to detail, emotional resilience under high stress, and fast-paced team collaboration skills
