Trade Compliance Coordinator

As part of our expanding Operations practice, we are looking for an experienced Trade Compliance Coordinator who is proficient in international shipping procedures and trade documentation to join our dynamic team. You'll work alongside a team with diverse experience across multiple locations, leverage cutting-edge compliance tools and systems, and gain access to insights from our global logistics network.
This role is in the critical path for much of this client programme's operations, making your contribution essential to organisational success.
Key skills and prior experience that align well with this position
Required
- 3+ years' previous experience in a logistics, compliance, or trade operations environment, supporting trade compliance, customs procedures, or international shipping operations
- Expert knowledge of: Forward, Reverse, and Third Party Logistics (3PL) workflows, Commercial invoice forms, SLI’s, packing list, shipper’s export declarations, import duties and tax assessments, temporary importations
- Excellent knowledge of international shipping procedures and trade documents
- Prior professional experience in logistics and/or compliance roles
- Familiarity with Manufacturing and assembly documentation (BOM, drawings), PLM software, and Google Sheets, Docs, Calendar & Gmail
- Working knowledge of: Fedex Ship Manager, DHL Import/Export Portals, Tariff classifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
Preferred
- Knowledge of global trade regulation
- Excellent analytical and organisation skills
- Awareness on Dangerous Goods, and various certifications essential for importations, such as Country of Origin certificate, Declaration of Conformity.
What type of work will I be doing?
- Trade Document Management: Manage commercial invoices and trade documentation. Ensure compliance with international shipping practices and meet delivery deadlines.
- Customs and Compliance Operations: Resolve customs clearance issues for international shipments. Manage ATA Carnets and temporary importation procedures globally.
- Problem Solving: Address complex trade compliance challenges including tariff classification, country of origin determination, and multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements.
- Analysis & Insight: Analyse shipping and compliance regulations in new markets. Maintain performance reports and provide data-driven recommendations for improvements.
- Process Optimisation: Review and approve commercial invoices. Monitor order backlogs and initiate corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery.
- Presentation & Communication: Communicate compliance requirements clearly to stakeholders. Organise complex information into logical, compelling narratives.
- Relationship Management: Engage confidently with clients, logistics teams, legal, procurement, and manufacturing departments. Manage expectations and build trusted relationships.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Logistics Analyst teams on new projects. Collaborate with legal, procurement, and manufacturing to establish product country of origin.
