Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic, and experienced French Teacher to teach students in Grades 11 and 12 under the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in French language instruction, international curriculum delivery, and intercultural education. The teacher will be responsible for developing students' proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while fostering an appreciation of Francophone cultures and global perspectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Teaching Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging French language lessons aligned with IB and Cambridge curriculum standards.
- Develop students' language competencies in:
- Speaking
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Grammar
- Vocabulary
- Pronunciation
- Promote active participation through discussions, role plays, presentations, and project-based learning.
- Integrate French literature, culture, current affairs, and authentic resources into classroom instruction.
- Encourage inquiry-based, student-centered learning practices.
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Incorporate educational technology and digital resources into language teaching.
IB & IGCSE Curriculum ResponsibilitiesIB Diploma Programme (DP)
- Teach French Language Acquisition courses at Standard Level (SL) and/or Higher Level (HL).
- Prepare students for Internal Assessments (IA), oral assessments, and external examinations.
- Guide students in developing communication, comprehension, and analytical language skills.
- Support students in independent learning, presentations, and language projects.
Cambridge IGCSE
- Teach French in accordance with Cambridge IGCSE syllabus requirements.
- Prepare students for speaking, listening, reading, and writing examinations.
- Conduct revision sessions, language workshops, and mock assessments.
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies for examination success.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate academic records and assessment data.
- Prepare progress reports and communicate academic performance to students and parents.
- Use assessment data to improve instruction and learning outcomes.
Student Support & Mentorship
- Encourage confidence in language learning and cultural exploration.
- Support students in achieving academic and personal learning goals.
- Mentor students participating in language competitions, exchange programs, and cultural activities.
- Foster global citizenship through intercultural understanding and communication.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
Curriculum Development
- Participate in curriculum planning, review, and enhancement initiatives.
- Develop innovative lesson plans and learning resources.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary and international education projects.
- Stay updated with developments in French language education and international curriculum requirements.
- Contribute to departmental and school-wide improvement initiatives.
School & Professional Responsibilities
- Attend faculty meetings, workshops, professional development programs, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Participate in school events, language clubs, cultural celebrations, and extracurricular activities.

QualificationsEssential Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in French, French Language, Modern Languages, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, Teaching License, or equivalent).
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience at secondary or higher secondary level.
- Experience teaching IB Diploma Programme and/or Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.
- Excellent proficiency in spoken and written French.
- Strong command of English for instruction and communication purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Native or near-native French language proficiency.
- IB-certified training in French Language Acquisition.
- Experience with Cambridge International curriculum.
- International school teaching experience.
- DELF, DALF, TCF, or equivalent French language certification.
- Experience teaching in online and blended learning environments.
