(LIGO-India Education and Public Outreach)
- Name of Post: LI-EPO-Junior Outreach Coordinator (Stationed at IUCAA, Pune)
Pay / Remuneration: Consolidated salary of Rs. 35,000/- p.m
- Duration: One year, extendable based on performance and norms of IUCAA
- Age Limit: 30 years.
- Qualification & Experience:
Essential: Bachelors in Physics/Maths/Astronomy/Engineering, Computer Science or related areas
from a recognized University (M.Sc./M.E. will carry further weightage).
Experience (desirable):
(i) Conducting large scale educational events
(ii) Experience in project management
(iii) Handling social media
Skills:
(i) Science popularisation / Amateur astronomy
(ii) Proficiency in English, Hindi, Marathi for science communication
(iii) Computer skills including proficiency in using Office and editing software
(iv) Adaptability to urban/rural environment as required for science popularisation
(v) Proactive and social nature, efficient management skills
Duties & Responsibilities:
§ Assist in promotion of LIGO-India via media, social media, newsletters
§ Conduct project participation in national/international exhibitions as well as local/national level
EPO and press events
§ Organise large-scale educational events and programmes for skill-development of
engineering/science graduates
§ Assist in production and distribution of resource material (posters, exhibits etc.)
§ Conduct EPO efforts around LIGO-India site
§ Contribute to detailed documentation of various stages of the LIGO-India project.
§ Conduct evaluation of effectiveness of LIGO-India EPO activities
NOTE: -
§ The candidate is expected to be present for all events, including those on weekends. The candidate
has to be willing to travel and conduct events in rural environs.
§ The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for the recruitment process to
