Job Title: Senior Planning Engineer (Civil)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Planning Engineer (Civil) to join our project management team in Hyderabad.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and cost control for large-scale civil construction projects. You will act as the bridge between execution teams and senior management, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education & General Experience:
- Degree Holders: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of total experience in civil construction.
- Diploma Holders: Diploma in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of total experience in civil construction.
- Core Specialization: Minimum of 2 years of dedicated, hands-on experience specifically in Project Planning, Scheduling, and Monitoring (this must be a core part of your recent portfolio).

Key ResponsibilitiesBaseline Scheduling & Resource Planning
- Develop, maintain, and update the comprehensive baseline Project Master Schedule (PMS) in alignment with contractual milestones and technical specifications.
- Create detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity logic sequences, and critical path networks.
- Perform resource loading and leveling (labor, machinery, and materials) to optimize site productivity and prevent bottlenecks.
Progress Monitoring & Tracking
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly progress tracking against the baseline schedule; identify schedule variances and critical paths early.
- Implement catch-up plans and mitigation strategies when project timelines run behind schedule.
- Quantify earned value metrics and coordinate closely with site execution engineers to verify actual physical progress versus planned progress.
Cost Control & Material Forecasting
- Prepare material procurement schedules (Lead-time schedules) for critical items like steel, cement, and formwork to ensure timely procurement without overstocking.
- Monitor project cash flows, track budgetary expenditures, and assist in evaluating variations or claims.
- Coordinate with the billing and contracts team to reconcile actual quantities executed against budgeted estimates.
Reporting & MIS
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports, including S-curves, productivity charts, and milestone dashboards for senior leadership and clients.
- Prepare presentations for monthly project review meetings highlighting key achievements, constraints, and resource shortfalls.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Software Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and MS Project (MSP) is mandatory. Strong command over advanced MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Macro dashboards) is essential.
- Engineering Acumen: Sound understanding of civil engineering construction sequences, cycle times (e.g., shuttering-to-concreting cycles), and material consumption rates.
- Strong communication and coordination skills to interface smoothly with Project Managers, Sub-contractors, and Client representatives.
- Analytical mindset with a sharp eye for identifying micro-delays before they impact macro-milestones.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
