Supplier Quality Engineer
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Quality, preferably in the automotive industry.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Job Location
- Pune (with regular travel to nearby supplier manufacturing units).
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily supplier production, quality performance, inventory, and dispatches.
- Verify supplier production capacity through Run @ Rate and capacity studies.
- Conduct supplier process, product, and system audits.
- Review and approve PPAP documentation (PFD, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, etc.).
- Ensure end-to-end product traceability and incoming material quality.
- Manage supplier quality issues, customer complaints, SCARs, and 8D corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Engineering, Logistics, and Supplier teams to drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, 8D, SCAR, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience in supplier quality management and automotive manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
Candidates should have hands-on experience in automotive supplier quality and be willing to travel regularly to supplier locations for audits, production monitoring, capacity verification, and quality reviews.
