Job Summary
The Department Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving sales performance, and delivering excellent customer service within the Home Appliances, Consumer Electronics (CE), and Audio-Visual (AV) categories. This role ensures effective team management, inventory control, merchandising, and achievement of revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Performance
- Achieve and exceed departmental sales targets and KPIs.
- Monitor sales trends and implement strategies to maximize revenue.
- Drive upselling and cross-selling across appliances, CE, and AV categories.
- Analyze competitor activity and market trends to stay competitive.
Team Management
- Lead, train, and motivate sales associates to achieve performance goals.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching.
- Create staff schedules to ensure optimal floor coverage.
- Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
Customer Experience
- Ensure excellent customer service standards are consistently met.
- Handle customer escalations and resolve complaints effectively.
- Guide customers with product knowledge and buying decisions.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Maintain optimal stock levels and ensure product availability.
- Coordinate with supply chain for timely replenishment.
- Conduct regular stock audits and minimize shrinkage.
- Manage product lifecycle including new launches and clearance items.
Visual Merchandising
- Ensure attractive and effective product displays.
- Implement brand guidelines and promotional layouts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department.
Operations & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to company policies and operational procedures.
- Maintain safety standards within the department.
- Manage billing accuracy and documentation.
