The Horticulture Assistant will support day-to-day operations in plant care, landscaping, and nursery management. This role involves assisting with planting, pruning, watering, soil management, pest control, and maintaining greenery in nurseries, gardens, landscapes, or indoor/outdoor projects. The assistant will work closely with the horticulture/landscape manager to ensure healthy plant growth and aesthetically pleasing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planting, transplanting, pruning, and maintenance of trees, shrubs, flowers, and grasses.
- Water, fertilize, mulch, and apply pesticides or organic treatments as directed.
- Monitor plant health, identify diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Prepare soil mixes, compost, and maintain plant beds.
- Assist in greenhouse and nursery operations including propagation, repotting, labeling, and stock management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Support in landscaping projects, plant installations, and seasonal displays.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Report plant conditions and daily progress to the supervisor.
