Job Summary**
As an AVP Tech, Data Engineering Lead at LPL Financial Corp, you will lead a team of data engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable data pipelines and platforms. You will play a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Job Responsibilities**
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Design, develop, and implement scalable and reliable data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions using various data technologies.
- Architect and optimize System of Record application alongside data warehousing and data lake solutions, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and other engineering teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data engineering, including coding standards, data governance, and data security.
- Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of data operations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, processes, and systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in data engineering processes and methodologies.
Job Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or lead role.
- Proven experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Flink, etc.
- Expertise in designing and implementing data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS,) and their data related services.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance principles.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platforms.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience in the Wealth Management industry is a plus.
