Assistant Manager – Finance, Tax & Insurance Compliance

Role Purpose
The Assistant Manager – Finance, Tax & Insurance Compliance will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate compliance with all direct and indirect tax regulations, statutory reporting requirements, insurance administration, and regulatory documentation applicable to the Company. The role involves preparing tax-related data and reconciliations, managing statutory compliance trackers, coordinating with consultants, auditors, insurance providers, and regulatory authorities, handling tax notices and assessments, and monitoring insurance policies and renewals. The incumbent will work closely with the Finance, Accounts, HR, Legal, and external consultants to maintain a robust compliance framework and support the Company's governance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. GST Compliance & Return Management
- Compile GST transaction data from business units and branches.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GST return workings and supporting schedules.
- Reconcile GST data with books of accounts, GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B, e-Invoice, and e-Way Bill records.
- Identify mismatches and coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments.
- Support preparation and filing of annual GST returns and reconciliation statements.
- Maintain proper GST documentation, records, and statutory registers.
2. TDS / TCS Compliance
- Prepare TDS and TCS computation workings for applicable transactions.
- Reconcile TDS/TCS records with books of accounts and statutory returns.
- Ensure timely payment and filing of TDS/TCS returns.
- Verify PAN details, tax deduction rates, exemption certificates, and lower deduction certificates.
- Support issuance of TDS certificates and maintain compliance records.
- Monitor changes in tax provisions and ensure implementation of revised requirements.
3. Income Tax Compliance & Assessments
- Coordinate collection and compilation of information required for income tax return filing.
- Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents for tax consultants.
- Assist in income tax assessments, scrutiny proceedings, departmental audits, and appeals.
- Coordinate preparation of replies to notices and information requests from tax authorities.
- Maintain records of tax assessments, appeals, and statutory communications.
- Track advance tax payments, self-assessment tax payments, and other tax obligations.
4. Statutory Compliance Calendar Management
- Maintain and update a comprehensive statutory compliance calendar.
- Monitor due dates relating to GST, TDS, TCS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Labour Laws, Companies Act compliances, and other regulatory requirements.
- Send timely alerts and reminders to relevant stakeholders.
- Track completion status and escalate delays or non-compliance to management.
- Prepare periodic compliance status reports and dashboards.
5. Statutory Notices, Documentation & Regulatory Follow-up
- Maintain a centralized repository of notices, assessments, and regulatory communications.
- Coordinate preparation and submission of responses to statutory authorities.
- Ensure adequacy of supporting documents for all submissions and filings.
- Track open notices and ensure timely closure through regular follow-up.
- Maintain documentation required for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
6. PF, ESI & Employee Statutory Compliance Support
- Coordinate with HR and Payroll teams regarding employee-related statutory data.
- Verify data relating to PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, and other labour law compliances.
- Assist in statutory filings and preparation of compliance reports.
- Maintain records of challans, filings, acknowledgements, and correspondence.
- Support labour law inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
7. Insurance Policy Administration
- Maintain records of all corporate insurance policies including:
- Property Insurance
- Stock Insurance
- Fidelity Guarantee Insurance
- Cash-in-Transit Insurance
- Employee Insurance
- Liability Insurance
- Other business-specific insurance covers
- Monitor policy validity, renewal schedules, and premium payment timelines.
- Coordinate policy renewals and ensure continuity of coverage.
- Maintain insurance asset schedules and coverage details.
- Support claim documentation, claim submissions, and settlement follow-up.
- Prepare insurance MIS, renewal trackers, and management reports.
8. Coordination with Consultants, Auditors & Insurance Brokers
- Liaise with Chartered Accountants, Tax Consultants, GST Advisors, Insurance Brokers, Internal Auditors, Statutory Auditors, and Regulatory Authorities.
- Provide schedules, reconciliations, reports, and supporting documents as required.
- Monitor statutory filing status and consultant deliverables.
- Support audit planning, information requests, compliance reviews, and closure of audit observations.
- Maintain organized records of all professional correspondence and submissions.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, TCS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, financial records, and documentation practices.
- Expertise in reconciliations, tax workings, and compliance reporting.
- Knowledge of corporate insurance administration and claims processes.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA (FICO) or similar ERP platforms.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and compliance orientation.
Educational Qualification
- CA (Inter) / CMA (Inter) / MBA (Finance) with relevant experience.
- Additional certifications in GST, Taxation, Insurance, or Regulatory Compliance will be preferred.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
