Job Title: Biomedical Engineer
Job Overview:
The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of medical devices, equipment, and systems that improve patient care. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals, researchers, and manufacturing teams to create safe and effective solutions that address medical challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Design, develop, and test new medical devices, diagnostic equipment, and systems to improve patient care. This can include prosthetics, imaging devices, or rehabilitation equipment.
- Maintenance and Repair: Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical devices and equipment to ensure safety and effectiveness in clinical settings.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards. Prepare necessary documentation for regulatory approvals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, healthcare providers, and research teams to understand clinical needs and adapt designs to meet those needs.
- Research and Development: Conduct research to improve existing technologies and create new innovations in medical technology.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks and safety assessments on medical devices and equipment before they are put into use in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare environments.
- Training: Provide training and support to medical staff on the proper use and maintenance of biomedical equipment.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical specifications.
