Study Abroad Counsellor – Sales
Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and results-oriented Study Abroad Counsellor to guide students through their overseas education journey. The role involves student counselling, university/course guidance, relationship management, and sales conversion to drive enrolments.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel students regarding study abroad programs, courses, universities, and countries.
- Understand students' academic and career goals and recommend suitable options.
- Manage students throughout the admission process, from course/country shortlisting to enrolment.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with students and maintain strong relationships.
- Drive lead conversion and enrolments by using consultative selling techniques.
- Explain university admission requirements, application processes, intakes, and eligibility criteria.
- Coordinate with internal teams including admissions, visa, loans, test preparation, and other support functions.
- Maintain accurate student records and regularly update CRM.
- Monitor application progress and identify potential bottlenecks.
- Handle post-offer follow-ups, deposits, and coordination with the visa/international teams.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and conversion goals during intake cycles.
- Provide market and student feedback to improve sales and counselling strategies.
Requirements
- Graduate/MBA in Business, Management, Psychology, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in sales, counselling, EdTech, or overseas education preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
- Strong sales and relationship-management skills with a student-first approach.
- Good research and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working with targets and deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple students and applications simultaneously.
- Knowledge of IELTS/TOEFL, GRE/GMAT and overseas university admissions will be an advantage.
