Job Title: Optometrist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care services. The ideal candidate will examine patients' eyes, diagnose vision problems and eye diseases, prescribe corrective lenses, and educate patients on maintaining good eye health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations.
- Diagnose vision problems, eye diseases, and abnormalities.
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and vision therapy when appropriate.
- Detect and manage conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye, and diabetic retinopathy.
- Prescribe medications for certain eye conditions where permitted by local regulations.
- Refer patients to ophthalmologists or other specialists when advanced medical or surgical care is needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of corrective lenses.
- Collaborate with ophthalmic assistants, opticians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Stay current with advancements in optometry and comply with professional and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid optometry license to practice in the relevant state or country.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in contact lens fitting and specialty lenses.
- Knowledge of modern diagnostic equipment and imaging technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and patient-focused approach.
- Time management and organizational skills.
